Tanyaflowers Tanya is the co-founder and director of Swaha Yoga Center. She started her meditation practice at the age of 14 when her parents decided to initiate their two children into Transcendental Meditation by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Study and practice of TM triggered Tanya’s interest in Eastern Philosophies and Yoga as well as the vastness and awe of existence itself. After completing her university degree in Fine Arts and Design, Tanya traveled to India where she studied yoga at the Yoga Vedanta Forrest Academy, and upon her return started teaching yoga. Since, Tanya has visited India several times where she has studied Yoga and Yogic Lifestyle in an Ashram setting. Some of her most influential teachers are Swami Atmaramananda - Yoga Vedanta Forest Academy, Swami Muktananda – Divine Life Society and Surinder Singh. Tanya also studied at Trika Yoga in India, an esoteric, Kundalini-based Hatha Yoga school. Around the same time Anusara Yoga, a western style of yoga developed by a student of B.K.S. Iyengar, came to Tanya’s interest due to the way it dealt with alignment and the biomechanics of the body. She completed Anusara Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Therapeutics at Shantaya Yoga and Bodywork School with Jonas Westring in Thailand. In 2010 Tanya studied at Unnata® Aerial Yoga in New York with its founder Michelle Dortignac, and brought Aerial Yoga to Greece for the first time in the beginning of 2011. Tanya has attended workshops and immersions with various teachers worldwide such as Shiva Rea, Paddy McGrath, Diane Long, etc, and she has worked for four years next to Swami Nirvikalpa in Yoga Studio Maroussi where she learned a whole lot from her dear teacher and friend. In October 2011 Tanya attended the Advanced Yoga Teacher Training and upon successful completion was given the title of Yoga Acharya - Master of Yoga, by Yoga Vedanta Forest Academy. Tanya Popovich is Head Teacher at Swaha Yoga Center Teacher Trainings and she conducts Aerial Yoga Teacher Trainings together with Michelle Dortignac of Unnata® Aerial Yoga. Tanya combines her knowledge of various aspects of yoga in a unique teaching style that integrates therapeutic body alignment, rhythmic flow, expansion of breath and vital energy, concentration, meditation, positive mental outlook and proper rest and nutrition. She promotes yoga as a way of holistic lifestyle through which one moves towards the flow of cosmic harmony and joy.

Evangelos Apostolopoulos RYT 200

Evangelos is an ex-athlete with a long background in Shotokan Karate. He has won the Greek Karate Championship in 1996-97-99, a 1st place in the Balkan Championship of Belgrade in 2000, and was a member of the Greek National Karate for 6 years. Evangelos' deep and thorough knowledge of the human body, but also his interest in the vastness and the abilities of the human mind drew him to the practices of Yoga and Meditation. Evangelos has trained at Trika Yoga in Rishikesh, India, an esoteric kundalini-based Hatha Yoga style, in Anusara Yoga and Yoga Therapeutics with Jonas Westring in Chiang Mai, Thailand, also with John Friend and Todd Tessen amongst other Anusara teachers, and is also a certified Unnata® Aerial Yoga teacher. In addition, Evangelos is a musician and a music composer, Vipassana Meditation practitioner, certified Thai Massage therapist, certified TRX trainer, certified NHR® practitioner and a Life Coaching trainee.

 Jonni-Lyn Friel E-RYT 200

Jonni-Lyn FrielJonni-Lyn Friel began yoga as a child in Canada, joining her parents practice. At 13 she suffered shoulder problems due to competitive swimming and found that yoga allowed her to continue training. Jonni-Lyn has traveled around the world, practicing and finding teachers everywhere from India and South-East Asia to Central America. Along the way she became certified in Thai Massage and Face and Head massage in Chang Mai,Thailand and taught Kids Yoga to her kindergarten class in Tai Chung,Taiwan.  Her first teacher training was done with Vivi Letsou at Nysy at the studio's very first teacher training in 2006. Jonni-lyn has completed three teacher trainings in Bhakti Flow with the amazing and loving Rusty Wells,the first teacher to show how sweat, love and music can lift you up to another place. Many more workshops,immersions and teacher trainings have been done throughout the years in Anusara, Jivamuhkti and Ashtanga .

The real moment that all the  different aspects of yoga came together was when Jonni-Lyn traveled to Mysore,India and studied with her teachers Venkatdesh and Hema at the Atma Vikasa Shala. Through these teachers,she finally discovered how to bring all the aspects of Yoga together, and place them in all parts of life. Studying with these generous people changed the way she thought about yoga and taught yoga. So blessed to have met and studied with so many wonderful teachers,she tries to teach in a way that honors them. Classes are a mix of joy,music, philosophy,alignment and hard work. Jonni-Lyn loves to chant and sing and teaches in the Classical Hatha tradition and Bhakti Flow vinyasa style. She is also a BASI Pilates teacher,Pre-natal teacher and Kids Yoga Teacher.

 Athanasios (Sakis) Albanis

Sakis Albanis has been involved with sports from an early age. He was training is classic sports and played basketball with local teams.
He graduated Tourism Management and worked successfully in the fields of tourism and events.
The last 4 years he has been practising and teaching Pilates and he is certified trainer by BASI Pilates, teaching mat and equipment classes. He is also a certified TRX trainer, while continuously attending seminars and training programs.
For Sakis Albanis the avocation with the alternative forms of sport is a way of life, which with dedication and enthusiasm transmits to his students, creating a pleasant and efficient environment.

 Maryanthie Achlioptas 300hr

In 2001, Maryanthie was introduced to Hatha Yoga, as she suffered from stress-related insomnia which was cured through relaxation techniques, including breathing exercises and meditation. Apart from the breathing and meditation, this unique and exciting physical practice incorporated Hatha Yoga into her life and this is when she began the journey of discovering Yoga.
She was a student of the amazing and inspiring Mihalis Filinis for many years, who kept encouraging her to get trained and start teaching Yoga. In 2004 she completed her MA degree in Marketing Communications, returned from London where she studied, and succesfully worked for 6 years in the field of Media as an Account Manager. In 2005 she followed her Teacher's guidance and was certified as a Professional Yoga trainer, yet she did not teach Yoga. In 2010 she decided to leave behind the Media lifestyle and finally start teaching Yoga. Since then she teaches Hatha Yoga & Vinyasa Flow. She was also trained in Perinatal Yoga (Birthlight/Part 1).
Swaha was brought into her life when she attended the Aerial Yoga Teacher training as well as the 300hr Teacher training (Hatha, Vinyasa Flow & Gentle Yoga) with which she was certified.
One of Maryanthie's joys is to encourage her students to continually honor, discover and reveal the great potential and the bliss that can be explored through the brilliant practice of Yoga. She feels blessed she took the risk to change her way of life and be doing this "job"!!
Aggeliki Matopoulou

Aggeliki Matopoulou has been practicing Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga since 2003. She studied next to Eirini Ziakou for many years, and in January of 2011 she attended the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training program at Atmanasana Yoga Studio. In July of 2012 she traveled to Myshore, India, where she attended a second Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training  300hr at Yogadarshanam and registered in Yoga Alliance. She studied yoga theory with Santhosh Kumar and Michalis Filinis, yoga anatomy with Vaso Kalabouka, prenatal yoga and kids yoga seminars with Maria Chrysocheraki and Stella Gioulou. She also studied Yoga Therapy, Partner Yoga and Kryias along with Santosh Kumar. Today she still evolves in the Yoga path by studying and practicing to become a more well rounded teacher and practitioner.

Aggeliki is also an actor with long professional experience in theater since 2004. She is also a teacher of physical theater and stilt walking.

Benji Adeyemo

Benji

Benji originally trained as a dancer/singer/actor at Laine Theatre Arts School in Epsom, Surrey, England. After completing his studies he enjoyed a very successful career on the commercial dance scene in London and in Musical Theatre in the Westend.He had his first taste of Yoga at The Life Center in Notting Hill, London and fell in love with the practice.

On relocating to Athens, Greece he started to practice at NYSY Studios and it was here that he took his 200hr NYSY/Yoga Alliance/Bhakti Flow teacher training under the loving care of Vivi Letsou and Rusty Wells.

Anyone who knows Benji will know about his love for singing, music and dance, so it was only natural that once he studied with Rusty Wells (the creator of Bhakti Flow Yoga) it would become a huge part of his life.

Bhakti Flow Yoga ..where chanting, music and dynamic flow come together as one with love and devotion..
