Jonni-Lyn Friel began Yoga as a child in Canada, taking part in the practice of her parents. At her 13 she suffered shoulder problems due to competitive swimming and found that Yoga allowed her to continue her education. Jonni-Lyn has travelled the world , practising and finding teachers everywhere from India to Southeast Asia and Central America. Along the way she became a certified therapist of Thai massage and facial and head massage in Chang Mai, in Thailand she has been teaching Kids Yoga in a kindergarden in Thai Chung, Taiwan. The first training as a teacher was by Vivi Letsoy in the first teacher training of NYSY Studio in 2006.

Jonni-Lyn has completed three teacher trainings in Bhakti Flow with the amazing and lovable Rusty Wells, the first teacher who showed her how sweat, love and music can lift you to another place. Many other workshops , insights and teachers trainings have been done all these years in Anusara, Jivamuhkti and Ashtanga Yoga. The real moment where all different aspects of Yoga were collected was the moment that Jonni-Lynn traveled to Mysore, in India where she was trained with her teachers Venkatdesh and Hema in Atma Vikasa Shala. Through these teachers, she finally found a way to bring all aspects of Yoga together, and place them in every part of life. Studying with these generous people has changed the way she thought about Yoga and teaching Yoga. Thus, blessed she met and studied with so many wonderful teachers, she tries to teach in a way to honor them. Lessons are a mixture of joy, music, philosophy, alignement and hard work. Jonni-Lyn loves to sing, she sings and teaches the traditional Classical Hatha and Bhakti Flow in Vinyasa style. She teaches BASI Pilates as well, and she is a teacher for pregnant women and a Yoga Teacher for children.
