In 23 November 4hr acro-yoga workshop, with George Androulakis.

The Acro Yoga is a technique that mixes the wisdom of Yoga, the dynamic power of acrobatics and healing arts. The combination of the three sets the stage for a practice that cultivates strength, trust, balance and be ready for game.

The Acro Yoga consists three basic elements:

  • Solar Acrobatics:
This is the most dynamic part of acro yoga that uses acrobatic techniques for strengthening, flexibility, trust and teamwork among trainees.
  • Lunar Healing Arts:
Includes practical Thai massage, stretching, therapeutic flying και partner yoga.
  • Yoga:
Includes physical, breathing and spiritual practices of traditional yoga.
There are three main roles in practice acro yoga:
Base:
He maintains the more points of contact with the ground. The main points of contact with the flyer are the palms and soles. Characteristic of a good base is to the flyer can support and inspire confidence.

Flyer:
He is in the air supported by the base. In solar (acrobatic) bit of practice the flyer can move in a series of dynamic positions using the base but retaining its independence, while the lunar (therapeutic) is called to let gravity and handling from the base. A good flyer takes good balance, confident and strong center. But the main condition is that there is trust between the base and flyer.

Spotter:
He who has an objective view of flyer and base and is the channel of communication between the. This position offers the opportunity to correct any mistakes and to guide them both so they evolve their practice safely.
Each of us has a natural propensity to one of these roles, ideally though, delving into this practice, Nobody learns to operate in all three.
